Kim Mishko’s firm Kim Mishko & Associates, 109A E. Bell St., is soon to become Meyer & Company as of Nov. 1.

Her long-time employee Corey Meyer, C.P.A., has bought the business and is taking on all of her accounts.

“It was always the plan when I came here,” Meyer said. “I’m here for the long-term.”

They host an open house between 3:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.

Mishko, who started the business in 1987, is semi-retiring to become a snowbird in Chandler, Ariz. She’ll work for Meyer part time and plans to be available for clients in late March 2014 in person and remains available by phone.

Meyer plans to stay in the same location and keep the same staff. He said they’re accepting new clients and it’s likely they’ll expand their bookkeeping and payroll offerings.

Meyer was born and raised in Sequim and spent three years working in Colorado and six years in Port Angeles before coming to work with Mishko. He went to college at Corban College in Salem, Ore., and his wife, Rachel, and him have six children.
