Business owners Kami Westfall and Erin Brown hope to provide the Sequim community with massage and beauty services that leave clients feeling confident in his or her skin.

Westfall is a licensed and insured massage therapist with 20 years of experience in therapeutic massage. Brown is a licensed esthetician of 16 years and owner of Amara, a business that offers skin-care, waxing and spray tan services.

The two business owners celebrated a ribbon cutting of their shared business space, Amara Spa, at 1001 E. Washington St., suite 3, with the Sequim- Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 19.

“We’re excited to get the word out there,” Westfall said.

Though the business owners recently celebrated with the ribbon cutting, they’ve been operating out of their space on East Washington Street for about two years now.

The two women met through mutual friends at their Sequim church and started swapping services — a massage for a facial, for example — and then decided to share a business space to house both of their work.

“When we work together it’s always more fun,” Westfall said.

Both women are working mothers with children at Sequim schools. The name for the business space was inspired by Brown’s only daughter Amara — a name that means “forever beautiful,” Brown said.

Kami Westfall Massage Therapy

Westfall serves a variety of clients in the Sequim and Port Angeles area. She offers massage treatments at Amara Spa but also can travel to clients homes, vacation rentals or assisted living facilities to provide in-home or in-room massage therapy.

Westfall sees about 20 clients per week, she says, and is experienced in several different treatment methods from geriatric massage (senior massage) to deep tissue massage to lymphatic drainage massage, an area in which she specializes.

Westfall also offers in-home massage treatments for individuals with limited mobility, hospital bed massage for clients who are bed-ridden and in-room massage at local bed and breakfasts or vacation rentals.

“I like to be the best part of someone’s day,” Westfall said.

Amara Spa

Brown offers clients skin-care, waxing and spray tan services. Most of the clients she sees are for full-body waxing and spray tan services, she says, but she also offers facials treatments.

“I like to help people feel confident in their own skin,” Brown said.

Amara also carries Image Skincare products for purchase and uses Norvell products for spray tanning.

While Westfall and Brown’s businesses operate separately, sometimes their work can cross over with clients, the owners said.

For seven years Brown provided facials to a woman who reached the age 103; Westfall provided massage therapy to the same woman. Today, they still provide the same services to the woman’s son.

To schedule an appointment, call Westfall at 360-477-2705 or Brown at 760-791-2971. Both businesses operate by appointment only.
