Home Depot has safety event

The Home Depot, 1145 W. Washington St., Sequim, hosts a free community safety event from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 6. Children will meet local firefighters and build a fire truck to take home. Enviro Clean NW will show Zena the Mold-detecting Dog at work. There will be home, boat, RV and pet safety tips and guidelines.

Burkhardt attends conference
Neil W. Burkhardt, owner of McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, Sequim, attended the Pacific Northwest Chapter meeting of the International Society of Arboriculture in Portland, Ore., on Sept. 24. The topic for the was “Urban Forest Pathology: Causes and Cures.” Burkhardt is an ISA Certified Arborist.
