Co-op stockholders gather

The Co-op Farm and Garden invites all stockholder members to its 82nd annual meeting, held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at The Co-op Farm and Garden, 216 E. Washington St.

This year the membership will electing three Board of Trustee positions. There will be reports from the accounting firm Leffel, Otis and Warwick and from the Co-op management team.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet board members and management, and to win Co-op gift cards worth up to $50. Refreshments will be served.

Nutrition talk at Nash’s

Join holistic nutrition educator Julia Buggy at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, for a talk on “Getting the Most from Your Winter Veggies.” She will focus on five vegetables that help keep you healthy in the cold months of the year — kale, collards, carrots, beets and leeks — including tips on how to eat them to gain maximum health benefits. The talk is free and open to the public.

Via Vita hires new therapist

Via Vita Chiropractic &Wellness, 128 W. Bell St., Sequim, is expanding. Owners Dr. Ryan Iskenderian and Kat Parks Iskenderian are excited to introduce Nicole Livengood, LMP, who joined the Via Vita family in January. Valentines for veterans

Drennan &Ford Funeral Home and Crematory has started its seventh annual “Operation Valentine” collection program. The project allows students and anyone in the community to create a handmade Valentine card to be delivered to both local and regional veterans as well as active duty and reserve service people. It is requested that a return response from the veteran not be requested. Drennan &Ford owners, Steve and Leah Ford, will collect the valentines at the schools on Feb. 3. Valentines also can be brought to the Drennan &Ford office at 260 Monroe Road in Port Angeles between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday through Feb. 3. Miller earns certification

Olympic Medical Heart Center exercise specialist Kyle Miller recently earned certification from the American College of Sports Medicine as a registered clinical exercise physiologist. Miller joined Olympic Medical Heart Center in May 2016. He completed a master’s degree in kinesiology and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Boise State University. Miller is set to become the wellness program coordinator for Olympic Medical Wellness Services in the Sequim YMCA at 610 N. Fifth Ave.
