Seniors may qualify for free memberships

Anytime Fitness, 10131 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim, is accepting new members who receive financial assistance for gym memberships from their health insurance plan. Programs include Silver Sneakers, Silver and Fit and AARP’s At Your Best. Medicare-eligible residents are encouraged to contact their Medicare supplement provider to find out if they participate in one of these programs. Some programs provide gym membership free of charge.

Jan’s Country Garden reopens for spring

Jan’s Country Garden, 344 O’Brien Road, Port Angeles, will open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 13-15 for customers to pick up dahlia tuber orders. The garden will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays for three weeks. The garden will be closed April 20-22 but will re-open April 27-29, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. To schedule an appointment or to pick up tubers at another time, call 452-8287.

Community input sought on clinic

Five Acre School will be hosting Dr. Lissa Lubinski, a board-certified family medicine physician, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at 515 Lotzgesell Road, Sequim, to discuss and share ideas about a patient-centered clinic. She is asking for community input for creating a new model for primary health care. Her community-designed clinic will be opening this spring in Port Angeles. For more information, call 681-7255.
