Yoga teacher completes training

Shelley Stratton RN, E-RYT and member of Yoga Alliance, has received her certificate for completion of a 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Program with Bernie Clark in Vancouver, Canada. Stratton is the owner of Bodhi Tree Yoga, 271 Blakely Blvd. in Sequim.

Also, Barb Boekelheide, E-RYT and a member of Yoga Alliance, has received her certificate for completion for the 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Program. She recently teamed up with Bodhi Tree for a Yin workshop in December. For more information, contact www.bodhitreeyoga.org.

‘Understand your numbers’

First Federal is hosting its fourth of four quarterly seminars from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, titled “Understanding Your Numbers.” Kevin Hoult will make the presentation at the Downtown Business Solutions Center, 141 W. First St., Port Angeles.

Sequim company receives patent

JKT Gaming of Sequim has been assigned a patent (9,501,900) developed by three co-inventors for a “gaming system and method combining RNG-based machines and hybrid finite pool-based machines.”

The co-inventors are Robert A. Luciano Jr., Warren R. White and William K. Bertram, all of Reno, Nev. The patent application was filed on Jan. 31, 2014.

PA firm to make pickleball paddles

Aero Paddles, dba The Composite Recycling Technology Center, has announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Pickleball Central, to distribute the very first pickleball paddle made with recycled aerospace-grade carbon fiber.

Aero Paddles expects to launch the paddle in the first quarter of 2017 under the model name of SWIFT. Pickleball was invented on Bainbridge Island in 1965 and is now the fastest growing sport in North America with approximately 3 million players globally.

With the paddles from Aero Paddles being manufactured at CRTC’s headquarters in Port Angeles and with Pickleball Central, headquartered in Kent, the new paddle has a total Washington connection.
