Discovery Memory Care achieves customer experience award

Sequim’s Discovery Memory Care, 408 W. Washington St., recently received the Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2018 Customer Experience Award.

The 55-bed memory care community qualified for the award in the categories of “Communication,” “Menu Choices” and “Quality of Food.”

“We strive to provide the best care and experience for our residents, and pride ourselves on having open and honest communication with family members,” said Executive Director Kathy Burrer.

By qualifying for the Pinnacle Customer Experience Award, Discovery Memory Care scores in the top 15 percent of the nation across a 12-month average. Clients have the opportunity to achieve this Best in Class distinction on a monthly basis in many categories designed to accurately reflect each resident’s experience.

Last year, a sampling of the facility’s resident family members participated in monthly telephone interviews that include open-ended questions, as well the opportunity to rate the memory care community in specific categories.

Every month, Discovery has gathered its real-time survey results in order to gain a better understanding of the residents’ needs and make improvements when necessary, Burrer said.
