Clallam County Fire Marshal and Community Development Director Sheila Roark Miller recently was honored before over 100 people attending the annual Fire District No. 2 volunteer awards and recognition banquet at the Red Lion Hotel’s Juan de Fuca ballroom.

Here she accepts the award from District 2 Fire Chief Sam Phillips. According to Phillips, the reason behind the award was multi-faceted.

Last year, Roark Miller was successful in having Clallam County commissioners adopt the first ever fire protection ordinance in Clallam County.

Also, Roark Miller went on record speaking to the county commissioners about the necessity of Clallam County Fire District No. 2 in cooperatively providing service to residents and businesses in Clallam County.
