In recent years, Jose Garcia has made himself well-known as the proprietor of Jose’s Famous Salsa, 126 E. Washington St. He moved here nine years ago with his wife, Angee, and their two children, now 13 and 10, from Torrance, Calif.

He started making salsa in his home before moving into the kitchen at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club and eventually his own restaurant.

His salsa is found in 16 stores and his restaurant celebrated one-year of being open on March 5.
