Classes at YMCA begin this month

Hip hop, guitar and memoir writing are among the Clallam County Family YMCA classes offered from April through June.

Dance instructor Mandie Hawkins teaches hip hop dance for kindergartners through sixth-graders.

Ages 8-12 can attend beginning hip hop, 4-4:55 p.m. Mondays, April 12-June 7.

$50 for Y members and $60 for nonmembers.

Intermediate hip hop for ages 8-12 is 4-4:55 p.m. Fridays, April 16-June 11.

$50 for members and $60

for nonmembers.

Intro to Hip Hop for kindergarten through second grade is 3-3:45 p.m. Fridays, April 16-June 4.

$45 for members, $55 for nonmembers.

Thom Davis' beginning guitar for adults and teens is 6-7 p.m. Mondays, April 19-May 24.

$33 for members, $40, nonmembers.

Students should bring an acoustic or electric guitar, tuner, notebook, medium gauge guitar pick and a recording device, if possible.

Intermediate guitar, for those who know basic chords and play with a steady rhythm, is 7:15-8:15 p.m. Mondays, April 19-May 24.

$33 for members, $40, nonmembers.

Jerry Kraft's "It's My Life - Writing the Personal Memoir," is for adults 50 and older.

The six-week class begins 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday April 14.

$45 for members, $50, nonmembers.

No prior writing experience is needed.
