Photo contest celebrates Dungeness Watershed

The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is sponsoring a photo contest to honor the Dungeness Watershed “as a home shared by forests, farms, fish and friends (people)” on the 25th anniversary of the Dungeness River Management Team, which has worked with the Sequim-Dungeness community to coordinate efforts and solve problems related to the watershed.

Photographers are encouraged to explore all aspects of the Dungeness watershed, the area around it, and the fish, animal and human inhabitants.

Entrants should include a description of the photo and where it was taken.

First prize is $250 cash, with gift certificates awarded for second and third places.

Photos entered may be used in publications, videos on the DRMT website and in other electronic media and on promotional products; photographers will be given credit but no payment.

To enter, e-mail photos and descriptions to Shawn Hines at, by May 1.

Winners will be announced at a summer celebration at the Dungeness River Audubon Center.
