Growing Garlic

Rita Dinger, veteran Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardener, will discuss care, harvesting and varieties of garlic at noon Thursday, Aug. 22, in the county commissioners meeting room of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E Fourth St., Port Angeles.

This presentation is a part of the Green Thumb Garden Tips brown bag series sponsored by the WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners on the second and fourth Thursday of every month in Port Angeles. Dinger will explain how and when to harvest, how to cure and clean the cured bulbs, and optimum storage conditions.

She also will demonstrate how to plant next year’s crop. She will repeat the presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Master Gardeners Class Act at Woodcock Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road.
