MAC hosts volunteer team recruitment fair
With a new season of history and art exhibits, programs and events on tap, the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley (MAC) is seeking to expand its volunteer team.
The MAC will hold a Museum Volunteer Recruitment Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim. Current volunteers and staff will be on-hand at the fair to answer questions and light refreshments are provided.
The nonprofit organization is seeking volunteers for such areas as artifact collections care, oral history interviewing and recording, historical research, exhibit design and fabrication, program planning, special event assistance, landscaping and being a docent at the MAC Exhibit Center and Second Chance Consignment Shop.
Personalized training is provided for all volunteer positions.
“Volunteering at the MAC is a great way to learn more about local history, whether you’ve lived here your whole life or are a newcomer and the same goes for natural history and the arts,” MAC Executive Director DJ Bassett said.
“Having engaged volunteers is essential to our organization, in all areas of what we do.”
Those unable to attend the Volunteer Recruitment Fair who are interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact MAC Exhibit Center manager Steph Ellyas at 683-8110 or steph@mac
Volunteer forms are available at the MAC Exhibit Center and on the MAC website at www.macsequim.org.
