Stitt is Sequim Arts’ featured artist

The Sequim Arts’ Oct. 24 meeting features master watercolor artist Jerry Stitt.


Stitt is an elected member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society, the Missouri Watercolor Society, is a life member-past president (1973) of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters and a past president and member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.


He conducts classes around the country for various watercolor societies. He taught for the University of Washington and at University of Puget Sound.


His philosophy is that watercolor painting is much like golf, “The person with the fewest strokes wins.” He is in the process of writing his own book on watercolor fundamentals and has instructional DVDs for sale.

The meeting is at St Luke’s Episcopal Hall, 525 N. Fifth Ave. with refreshments at 9:30 a.m., a business meeting at 10 a.m. and Stitt’s the presentation at about 10:45 a.m. Everyone, including non-artists, is welcome to attend the meeting.
