This Sunday, Nov. 10, Songwriting Works, a group creating musical opportunities for adults at all stages of physical, mental and cognitive health to compose and perform songs, presents its third annual Community SongFest from 2-6 p.m. at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St., Port Townsend.

The event includes interactive singing, spontaneous songwriting, improvisation and several local performers leading into Songwriting Works’ kick off of its CD “Life’s A Song” Kickstarter campaign.

The band hopes to complete its 12-song folk and swing-era jazz album by earning $16,000 to match funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Tickets are $12 for seniors, youths, fixed income, $20 general admission, $50 V.I.P. Access, with advance tickets at and the Port Townsend Co-op. Tickets also available at the door.
