March exhibit set
To celebrate long awaited spring, the Blue Whole Gallery offers a special show titled “Sky Narratives” by Don Tiller, internationally known artist. As the gallery’s guest artist, he will showcase two front windows with exciting landscapes throughout March. Meet him on the opening day, from 5-8 p.m. March 7. He also will give an art talk on March 18. In April, he will offer a two-day workshop in Sequim. See www.bluewholegallery.com.

Free student reading
Peninsula College creative writing students take center stage today, Feb. 26, to read their short fiction, memoir, poetry and humor at the college’s Foothills Writers Series. The reading begins at 12:35 p.m. in Maier Performance Hall at the college’s main campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Community members are invited to attend the free reading.

Family Flicks kicks off
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss and kicking off a new Family Flicks series, the Sequim Library presents the movie Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1. On the first Saturday of the month through June, the free Family Flicks movie series at the Sequim Library present children’s movies for all ages and are accompanied by trivia and refreshments.

P.C. jazzes it up
Two concerts, one vocalist, 10 horns and a powerful rhythm section is in store for jazz fans in March when the Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble presents its winter concert series. “Jazz at the PUB,” is from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, on the PUB Stage in the Pirate Union Building. The Jazz Ensemble’s annual Winter Quarter Concert starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, in Maier Performance Hall. Band members include Bob Hagan, Dave Hinton and Rex Abbott, all of Sequim, on trumpets.
