Always room for small art

"Some of the best things come in small packages," says Sally Erlendson. She's referring to the show and art sale this month at the Museum and Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim. The show runs through Dec. 23.
Katherine Vollenweider, executive director, says that the small art works are perfect for gift giving since there is always room for something small and the pieces are not too expensive.
To qualify for the show, works had to be
8 inches by 10 inches or smaller for wall art and no more than 8 inches high for 3-D art.
The small works are diverse including baskets, stained glass, photographs, collages, water colors, acrylic paintings, carvings, driftwood
sculptures, handmade paper objects, ceramics, cedar weavings and stoneware. There also are a few that defy labeling.
Prices range from $9 to $1,185 with many under $50.
The show comprises 38 entries and 102 different pieces. One-quarter of the sale price will be split between the center and Sequim Arts, the sponsors of the exhibit.
Five artists -- Pat Speer, Duane Babinski, Sherry Nagel, Randy Radock and Rocky Fankhauser - are donating the full amount of their sales.
