Workshop will help prepare to audition

Port Angeles Light Opera Association will hold a workshop before auditions for its summer production of "Oklahoma!" The workshop is from 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the PALOA Center, 522 Mount Pleasant Road, Port Angeles.
It costs $10 and covers essentials for a successful musical theater audition: instruction from director Richard Stephens and conductor Kristin Quigley Brye followed by a practical audition experience much like the actual PALOA auditions.
Auditions for "Oklahoma!" are from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 19, and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 20, with callbacks at 1 p.m., also at the PALOA Center.
Auditioners should be prepared to sing a musical selection and can bring sheet music. A pianist will be on site. Actors should perform a prepared monologue and be ready to read scenes from the show.
