North Olympic Watercolorists and Rudy Bauer of Bauer Haus Pottery present "Fire and Water" at the Museum and Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim, from June 29-July 31.
The museum is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. An opening reception is from 5-8 p.m. July 2 during the First Friday Artwalk.
The show contains two different but compatible elements, watercolor and pottery. Bauer is working with iron oxide in his glazes and has a series of recently fired pieces just for this show. Besides the show at the MAC, he is participating in the Sequim Arts Studio Tour during the Lavender Festival.
The second part of the show involves the North Olympic Watercolorists. Members are beginners to professionals who meet for a weekly painting session at Straitside Studio owned by Gail St. Peter, where each artist paints in his or her own style and shares ideas, tips, techniques and constructive critiques. Pieces vary from the realistic to the abstract. See Pat Speer's watercolor "Fisherman Puerta Vallarta" at top of Page C-1.
