As a way to encourage community members to express themselves in an unlimited creative way, the Sequim Humanities and Arts Alliance is sponsoring an exhibit that contains petite pieces of artwork called artist trading cards.
The only limit is the size. Cards each must measure 2½ inches by 3½ inches in order to qualify and must have art on both sides.
All media are welcome.
Cards must be original artworks and must not be copied, derivatives or based on other copyrighted or published work.
Artist trading cards are small works of art that are created and traded as a way to appreciate other artists’ talents. The cards are traded or exchanged rather than sold.
Entry forms are available online at www.SequimArtsAlliance.org or at the Museum & Arts Center.
Entry fee details: One artist trading card is a single entry. The fee for six entries is $5.
Each artist is welcome to submit up to 24 entries. Postmarked entries are due July 23 and hand-delivered entries will be accepted from noon-3 p.m. at the Museum and Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, 175 W. Cedar St. Exhibition dates are Aug. 2-27.
There will be a reception at the museum from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 5 during the First Friday Artwalk in downtown Sequim.
Sequim Humanities and Arts Alliance hosts an opportunity for the public to create artist trading cards from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Dungeness Design, 520 N. Sequim Ave. Be expressive and learn how to make an artist trading card. Art supplies will be available and participants may bring some of their own.
The Sequim Humanities and Arts Alliance encourages and enhances the arts and culture in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley by facilitating connections and collaborations among artists, cultural organizations, educational institutions, businesses and the community.
