Baker and instructor Kate McDermott, creator and founder of Art of the Pie workshops, presents a demonstration of seasonal pie-making at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way, in Dungeness.

The demonstration is free and open to the public.

In her one-hour session, McDermott will use many local ingredients as she shows how to make a seasonal fruit pie in preparation for the holidays.

Gluten-free options will be discussed as well.

Named “Food Rock Star 2010” by Seattle Magazine, McDermott is widely acknowledged as one of the region’s best pie makers ever.
