Multimedia Frequently Asked Questions

Digital photos only, we will not scan your photos. Frick's in Sequim and Camera Corner in Port Angeles can scan your images to digital format if needed.

Sizing photos
  1. Tone, crop and caption in Photoshop or other image editing application
  2. Image size to 1000 pixels (longest dimensions)
  3. Sharpen lightly if necessary
  4. Save as JPG on 12 or Maximum
Please don't submit photos that are out of focus. We realize not everyone aspires to be Ansel Adams, but the Gazette can only use in-focus photos. Blurry pictures (usually taken from too far away) simply don’t make the cut. Check that your digital camera is set on "auto focus" and ensure that the subject has plenty of light. A general rule of thumb when taking people photos, get as close as you can and then take two steps closer.

If you don't know how to do any of the above, that's OK, just give us the photos on CD and we'll do the rest.

Audio
We regret that we cannot use commercial music on the slideshows. If you recorded the music or audio yourself we can accept mp3 format. Please keep audio to 2-3 minutes in length. The slideshow lasts as long as the audio does. We will not edit audio files for you.

Please fill out this form, burn your photos to a CD and drop both by the Gazette office, 147 West Washington, Sequim. Send questions to: multimedia@sequimgazette.com. Online submissions are not available at this time.

We provide no guarantee that a submission will be posted or published. We reserve the right to refuse to post, or may remove at any time, any submission received through this site for any reason and will publish on our own time and as scheduling allows.

All submitted pictures remain the property of the photographers who submit them. We have the right to display the pictures at our website only.
