Democrat Central Committee meeting

Clallam County Democrat Central Committee meets from 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in the Port Angeles Red Lion upstairs conference room.       
The committee has scheduled this “listening session” to hear the needs and priorities of Clallam County residents.
John Marrs, chairman of the CCDCC, will open the session and  Julie Johnson, State Committee Woman will facilitate it. A 9 a.m. health panel will include Tom Locke, MD, MPH, Clallam County health officer; Eric Lewis, CEO, Olympic Memorial Hospital; Liz Mueller, vice chairwoman, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe; and Jerry Charles, Veterans Health Services, Lower Elwha S’Klallam Clinic.
It will be followed by a question and answer session at 10 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m. the education panel will speak. It is comprised of Mary O’Neil-Garrett, vice president of instruction, Peninsula College; Tina Herschelman, administrative assistant; Dr. Jane Pryne, superintendent of Port Angeles Schools; Michele Pace or Steve Baxter, Port Angeles school board; Frank Hansen and/or Victor Velazquez, Quileute Tribal School; and Barry Burnett, president, Education Association.
Questions and answers are at 11:30 a.m.               
Noon lunch speakers are Sen. Norm Dicks and Rep. Lynn Kessler.               
The committee’s business meeting begins at 1:30 p.m.
