Ed Hume headlines gardening conflab

Gardening expert, author and Puget Sound radio and television personality Ed Hume and certified horticulturist and columnist Andrew May will be the featured speakers at the Fall Gardening Conference, sponsored by the Clallam County WSU Master Gardeners Oct. 24 - 25, at the Vern Burton Center, Port Angeles.
 Hume’s presentation on Northwest fall gardening ideas will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday of the two-day conference.
Andrew May will close the conference on Sunday, at 3 p.m., with “Making Your Winter Garden Beautiful.” May locally owns Mayflower Landscaping and teaches horticultural classes through Peninsula College.  
 The conference includes a series of food preservation classes as well as nine workshops on sustainable gardening and landscaping.
 Registration is $66 for two days or $38 for one day when it is received by the WSU Extension office by Oct. 12.  
Registration received after Oct. 12 will be $71 for two days, $43 for one.
