‘Too Old’ is too good
Olympic Theatre Arts has outdone itself in bringing a wonderful musical revue, “Too Old For The Chorus,” to Sequim. The play was written about those over 50 and performed by a great fully AARP-qualified cast. People under that age should attend to see what life will bring. Audience members on the far, far side of 50 can laugh and cry and say “been there and done that.” Don’t miss this one.

Is the law king?
The Tea Party movement is led by principle, not individuals. Let’s look at a few of the basics.
The items found in the Declaration of Independence that had been mentioned in sermons were that words and contracts were mutually binding on all agreeing parties. They were not living nor open-ended, to be amended by one or the other party.
A little Latin lesson is timely, the sequence of rex and lex, the king and the law. Rex lex, the idea that the king is the law, is based on the ancient idea that the king is God walking the earth and that government was created in the image of God, a god you can see and feel.
The other idea, that law is king, goes back to Magna Carta in 1215 at least. Our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights are all lex rex documents. The individual is of high value as he was created in the image of God. Government was established for the benefit of all the people, not just the ones at the top. Nations so constructed create wealth in appreciable amounts, tapping talents of many more.
Education and science are the disciplines that ask, “Has this been tried before? If so, what happened?” It judges all by the same standard. These applied to medicine have added much to our lives and health.
Publicly funded education has been teaching that all cultures are equal and all things are relative. There are no fixed stars to steer by, least of all lex rex.
Doesn’t changing the rules disqualify the recipient of tax funds?
