Indian writing workshop

Peninsula College will host another free writing workshop for Indian writers of the peninsula at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Longhouse on the college campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

The 90-minute workshop will be led by English faculty members Kate Reavey and Alice Derry, both published authors who will lead participants in writing exercises and provide feedback on completed work.

Eat well, be happy

The Vegetarian/Vegan Potluck Club meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Adventist Community Service Center, 30 Sanford Lane, Sequim.

Participants should bring their favorite dishes along with the recipes to share with the group. The monthly potluck offers an opportunity to sample new foods, exchange recipes and ideas and share new ways of preparing healthy dishes.

Dries finds ‘White Christmas’

Sequim actress Carol Swarbrick Dries performs in Irving Berlin’s "White Christmas" Nov. 28-Dec. 30 in Seattle.

Dries plays Martha Wayson, owner of an inn in New England that faces closure because there is no snow. Some friends decide to put on a benefit show in an old barn close by, leading to romance and music.

OMC arts/crafts show

Olympic Medical Center Auxiliary holds an arts and crafts show from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles

More than 50 Northwest artists and craftspeople will offer a wide variety of merchandise and the OMC Auxiliary will hold a bake sale.

Proceeds fund scholarships for students entering the medical field, donations for new equipment at OMC and support for the lifeline service.
