Registration is now open for week-long overnight summer camp sessions at Camp Beausite NW in Chimacum, for people ages six to 65-plus, with special needs.

Spots fill quickly, so organizers recommend early registration.

Campers ride horses, swim at the Port Townsend pool, have cookouts, and take part in singalongs and beach picnics. Other favorite activities include tye-die, archery, lawn and court games, billiards, air hockey, skits, carnival games and more. Evening musicians and presenters, including drum circles with Peninsula Drumming, provide entertainment, as does a talent night and visits from rescued raptors at Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue.

The camp’s weekly sessions run Monday-Fridays, July 2-Aug. 3, with each week for a different age group.

The fee is $850. Campers who are eligible and enrolled in Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) may have their fees paid by this program; check with one’s DDA case manager for eligibility.

Camp Beausite offers a care ratio of one counselor for every one or two campers.

Now hiring

Camp Beausite NW is now hiring skilled, compassionate camp counselors and a camp nurse.

Candidates for counselors must be at least 18, pass a background check, have experience working with people either in a school or workplace leadership role, and must be willing to live on-site during camp sessions.
