Clallam genealogical society hosts all-day seminar in Sequim

The Genealogical Society of Clallam County hosts an all-day seminar Saturday, Oct. 21, featuring Mary Kathyrn Kozy, a renowned genealogist, speaker and researcher.

She will present four, one-hour sessions. Her topics include preparation for a productive research trip, how social media will open new doors to family history, and instruction on using the Familysearch Wiki and Familysearch Family Tree. Familysearch is a resource that is commonly used by beginning and advanced family historians.

The seminar runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Registration cost is $35 for members of the Clallam County Genealogical Society and for members of the Sequim Museum & Arts.

A registration fee of $45 is asked from non-members, and for all registrations after Oct. 15 and at the door.

Heritage Quest will bring a selection of books and genealogical materials for attendees to examine and purchase.
