Dog party party set for Saturday

The Sequim Dog Park celebrates birthday No. 11 in style from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the park within Carrie Blake Community Park off of Blake Avenue.

The event includes raffles with items for pets and their owners, treats for the dogs and cupcakes for their humans.

Also featured is a demonstration by Sequim Police Detective Paul Dailidenas and K-9 Officer Mamba at 11 a.m., and from 1-3 p.m., Dream Catcher Hot Air Balloons will have a balloon house for the children.

Presented by KSQM and Pet Lovers, the event hosts DJ Golden Mike spinning tunes in-between the action, with refreshments from Shipley Center Café, dog freestyle dancing, 4-H presentations, llamas and more.

Representatives will be on hand from a number of community groups — Olympic peninsula Humane Society, Welfare for Animals Guild, Peninsula Friends of Animals, Pet Posse, Precious Life Animal Sanctuary, Rescue Every Dog and Grey Hound Pets Inc. — as well as other pet-friendly local businesses.
