National Day of Prayer has Sequim event

In observance of the National Day of Prayer, the Clallam County NDP Committee hosts an event from 11 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St.

This year’s theme is, “Pray for America – UNITY,” based on Ephesians 4:3, a challenge to mobilize unified public prayer in America. The public is invited to the event.

“We encourage everyone to come together, to enter into communion with God, and to participate in a unique and inspiring worship and praying experience,” said Sequim’s Joe Walsh, the county National Day of Prayer Task Force coordinator in a press release.

Creation lecture series scheduled

“In The Beginning — The Origin of Species,” a series of Creation lectures with Dr. Stan Hudson, is set for Saturday, May 5, at Sequim Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane.

Lecture topics include the Flood and Noah’s ark, worship of the God of Genesis, dragons and dinosaurs, and the age of the Earth.

The event is free and starts at 9:30 a.m. It offers a vegetarian lunch for guests at 12:30 p.m.

Hudson, who has a master’s degree in divinity from Andrews Theological Seminary and a doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, is co-host of nationally syndicated LifeTalk Radio’s “Sink the Beagle,” a lighthearted look at the subject of creationism and evolutionism.
