Messy Church in Port Angeles

There will be a Messy Church event from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Avenue, Port Angeles, with devotions, a common meal and fun messy activities.

OUUF marks ‘Creative Spirit Sunday’

At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Road, celebrates “Creative Spirit Sunday,” an annual tradition of creative presentations by members and friends. Included will be music, stories, driftwood sculptures, a carved rock, Japanese balls, paintings2, photos, a woven vest, a creation made from recycled junk and other surprise offerings. Luther, Reformation lectures in Sequim

Dr. Roland Blaich, Ph.D., will present three free lectures at Sequim Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane, presenting, “Luther & The Reformation, 500th Anniversary Lecture Series.” The lectures are free and open to the public.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, Blaich presents “The Protestant Reformation: Historical Background.” At 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, he presents “The Prophet Luther,” and at 3 p.m. the same day, Blaich presents “The Protestant Reformation in Perspective.”

Blaich is a professor emeritus of Walla Walla University, where he served as chair of the Department of History and Philosophy. He taught classes in European history, political science and church history. A native of Germany, he earned his Ph.D. in Modern European History from Washington State University.
