Helping hands sought at botanical garden

The Sequim Botanical Garden Society invites community residents to work alongside its members at the Sequim Botanical Garden in Carrie Blake Community Park near the bandshell east of Sequim.

Join experienced gardeners to learn more about plants and techniques that are successful in the community.

Each month there will be two opportunities to lend a helping hand to the Sequim Botanical Garden Society and to contribute to the growth of the botanical garden. At 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, the work party is intended for everyone, including families, who are eager to spend part of their weekend nurturing the garden. This month Jean Pier will talk about “dead-heading for little helpers in the garden.” Come at 1 p.m. and bring garden gloves, clippers, lavender sickles, etc., and all will be invited to take home a bouquet of lavender.
