‘How to Succeed … ’ earns 5th Avenue accolades

For their efforts in putting their annual operetta on the stage, Sequim High students and crew are getting noticed.

The Seattle 5th Avenue Theater awarded two nominations and four honorable mentions for Sequim High School’s production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” staged in early and mid-May.

Nominations included Best Chorus in a Musical and Best Costumes/Costume Design (Christy Rutherford).

Honorable mention nods went to Audrey Hughes (Actress in a Supporting Role, “Smitty”), Damon Little (Actor in a Supporting Role, “Bud Frump”), Hair and Make-up Design (Janell Heintz) and Music Direction (John Lorentzen).

“How to Succeed in Businesses Without Really Trying” was directed by Laura Lorentzen and Dave McInnes and choreographed by Anna Pederson, with technical direction and scenic design by Mark Lorentzen.

The program is offered to high schools in Washington state that produce major musicals.

Award winners were announced on June 11.
