Join library’s Space Quest in Sequim on Aug. 13

Peer into an infinity star box, spin a vortex dome, make clouds and lightning, or create a planet and watch it orbit.

The North Olympic Library System hosts Space Quest with Idea Hatch on Tuesday, Aug. 13, with a presentation from 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at Sequim Middle School, 301 W. Hendrickson Road, and alter that day (4-5 p.m.) at the Forks Library, 171 Forks Ave. South.

Space Quest stations encourage creative learning and fun for 5-12-year-olds (youths aged 8 younger should be accompanied by an adult). Idea Hatch: STEAM for Kids was created by science educator Heidi Larson of Olympia.

The theme for the 2019 Summer Reading Program is “A Universe of Stories.” This summertime celebration encourages children to keep reading during the summer break from school and features a reading challenge with prizes and a multitude of events for all ages. The program runs through Aug. 17.
