The Kids Create Art series, held at the Sequim Library from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. the third Saturday of each month, January through April, starts Jan. 19.
Led by local artists, the series — recommended for ages 7-12 — creates fun, hands-on opportunities for children to explore various artistic media.

The schedule includes:
Jan. 19 — “Barn Owl Nightscape” with artist Minda Corey
Participants will experiment with multi-media techniques using paper, chalk pastels and pens. Learn about blending chalk techniques, color placement for texture and adding detail with pens.
Feb. 16 — “Interior Design” with artist Kristy Hilliker
Students will be introduced to interior design basics such as floor plans, color schemes and concept boards while designing a dream bedroom.
March 16 — “Beading “with artist Shayann Hoffer
Children will learn basic bead-jewelry making techniques for creating necklaces, bracelets, keychains, bookmarks and ornaments.
April 20 — “Umbrellas” with artist Eva Kozun
Participants will create a mixed media umbrella project using a variety of paper types and coloring tools; umbrella history and design will be discussed.
