Local artists host B&G Club benefit concert

Local artists Carol Swarbrick Dries and Linda Dowdell take the stage in a benefit concert for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Holy Trinity Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Swarbrick Dries has been on musical theater stages around the world, including four Broadway shows several shows at Seattle’s Fifth Avenue Theatre.

She has starred in television series and specials as well as feature films.

Dowdell has roots in jazz and classical music and has toured the world as a musical director. She was accepted to BMI Musical Theatre Group in New York and recognized for creative achievement.

At Olympic Theatre Arts, Dowdell directs the summer musical theatre intensive for teens.

The afternoon will include a special performance by the Port Angeles Club member Pursha True, a teenager competing in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America national talent search.

During intermission there will be refreshments sold and raffle tickets for various prizes.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula (BGCOP) is a nonprofit organization chartered through Boys & Girls Clubs of America, that operates two clubhouses for under-served and disadvantaged youth of ages 6-18 in Sequim and Port Angeles and Sequim.
