The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee has teamed up with the Feiro Marine Life Center to promote ocean literacy among students.

The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee has teamed up with the Feiro Marine Life Center to promote ocean literacy among students from Sequim, Port Angeles and Crescent elementary classes, as well as the home schooled community and some Port Angeles High School seniors working on their senior culminating projects.

Most of the project focuses on fourth- and fifth-grade students from the eastern and central areas of Clallam County and includes education in the classroom and at the Feiro Marine Life Center.

The Marine Resources Committee receives its funding from a federal appropriation via the Washington Department of Ecology.

The Feiro Marine Life Center has received similar support from the Clallam County Marine Resources Committee in 2007 and 2008.

More than 600 students have participated in this program thanks to funding from the Marine Resources Committee and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
