Metal, stone artists presents at OPAA

The Olympic Peninsula Art Association presents a program and demonstration by Kevin Willson on Thursday, April 27, in in the parish hall of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for meet-and-greet, followed by a short business meeting and Willson’s presentation.

A Port Angeles resident, Willson started his professional art with metal sculpture in 1973 and became co-founder of The Art Works, Inc. in Langley on Whidbey Island. For the next four years, he sold art along the West Coast and in Hawaii. In 1974, he ventured into stone. In 1978, he moved to Europe to expand his learning of art sculpture. He lived in Spain, Italy and Switzerland working with marble, serpentine, alabaster, travertine, granite and bronze. Nine years later he moved back to his hometown of Seattle. For the past 28 years, he has been selling from his studio and showing art privately.
