Petra Bernsten, shown here with Rotary public relations representative Bret Keehn, left, and president Jon Jack, was named Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s October Middle School Student of the Month.

Bernsten is the daughter of Susie and Carl Bernsten. Her favorite subjects are science and math and her favorite sports are volleyball, soccer and wrestling.

Bernsten plans to become a culinary chef and would love to own a restaurant in Washington state or along the Pacific Coast.
