Milestone: Brueckner earns Clallam 2 Fire Rescue honor

On Jan. 20, Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue (Port Angeles) officials paid tribute to volunteer and career members for their work in the recent year.

Among them was Sequim resident Ian Brueckner, a 2002 Sequim High graduate who was awarded Clallam 2 Fire Rescue’s career Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year.

The annual awards ceremony is held to show appreciation and to honor the emergency responders who give their time and risk personal safety to serve others. Overall, 20 awards were presented by the fire district to 42 firefighters, and an additional three awards were presented to civilians who demonstrated substantial support to the fire district in 2017.
