Milestone: NOWW group awards scholarship to PC ‘s Acevedo

The North Olympic Women on the Water (NOWW), the North Olympic Sail and Power Squadron’s women’s group, recently awarded a $1,000 Scholarship through the Peninsula College Foundation to Peninsula College Sydni Acevedo.

Acevedo is studying Marine Sciences and said she hopes to one day be prominent in preserving our marine environment and saving the marine mammals, particularly those that of the Salish Sea, NOWW representatives said.

The local group will again be offering a $1,000 scholarship in 2019-2020 through the Peninsula College Foundation and urges students to apply.
