Milestone: OMC nurse Sayles receives DAISY Award

Olympic Medical Cancer Center RN Katie Sayle was recently honored with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

The award was created by the DAISY Foundation a not-for-profit organization that seeks to recognize extraordinary, compassionate nursing care provided to patients and families every day.

“Katie embodies everything about the DAISY Award,” said Chief Nursing Officer Ralph Parker, who bestowed the award.

A staff member’s nomination noted: “Katie consistently demonstrates a positive attitude and encourages others to learn, grow, and be a positive role model. Patients request Katie as their nurse and report that she truly listens. She is empathetic, kind, caring and knowledgeable; they feel very comfortable in her capable hands.”
