Milestone: Operaton Valentine nets 1,800 cards for active military, veterans

The cards were created by students and teachers of 13 Clallam County public and private schools, a variety of scouts, youth groups, churches, Elks Naval Lodge #353, businesses and local residents.

The cards will be distributed by Rettela and Charles “Chuck” Gagnon of the Korean War Veterans Association #310 (not pictured) to Clallam County active duty personnel and veterans including the Coast Guard bases in Neah Bay, La Push, Port Angeles and Port Townsend, Sarge’s Place (Forks), Bremerton Naval Base, Retsil Veterans Home, American Lake Veterans Hospital (Lakewood), Madigan Veterans Hospital and Warrior Transitional Battalion (Fort Lewis), Judsen Park Retirement Facility (Des Moines, Wa.) and the Northwest USO Facility (near Sea-Tac Airport).
