Milestone: P.E.O. group helps Sequim woman prusue nursing degree

Local P.E.O. chapter members met recently to honor Sequim resident Sondra Pedlar and to present her with a $3,000 scholarship award.

The money will be used to help Pedlar continue her studies in the nursing program at Peninsula College.

P.E.O. is an international organization of women that raises money for scholarships, grants and loans to aid women in the U.S. and Canada to complete their educational goals.

In the past few years P.E.O members have supported local women in Peninsula College’s nursing program as well as dental assistant, music education, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) and massage therapy programs.

Local P.E.O chapters also give an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Port Angeles High School.
