Milestone: PEO boosts Boys & Girls Clubs, urges donations

The Port Angeles Chapter IV of the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) recently presented a $400 check to the Boys and Girls’ Club of The Olympic Peninsula for school supplies.

The clubs serve about 500 youths in the Sequim and Port Angeles communities.

“They serve a vital link to our economic well being by allowing families to work knowing their children have a safe nurturing place to go after school,” PEO representatives said earlier this month. “The professional staff provides a positive role models to help the children learn and grow to reach their full potential.”

A capital campaign seeking to build a new facility in Port Angeles has raised about $7 million and needs about $900,000 to open a fully-equipped new facility, PEO representatives said.
