Milestone: Rotary Student of the Month

Riley Chalk, a senior at Sequim High School, was recognized as the Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s January Student of the Month. He’s lived here since 2011, moving from the Gig Harbor area. He has three brothers. His mother Debbie Chalk was in attendance along with his wood shop teacher Brad Moore. Riley’s favorite classes include history, wood shop, CAD and ceramics. Moore told the Rotary audience that Chalk has a positive attitude and always is ready for a challenge. His extracurricular actives include tennis, tea club and being an emcee for the school assemblies. His favorite hobbies outside of school are music, biking and outdoor projects. Community activities include Seahawk rallies, Eagle project assistance, blood drives and the talent show. He would like to go to college and become a history teacher.
