Milestone: Sequim teachers get a boost

Seven Sequim teachers recently received funds from Beta Nu, the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

Sequim High School teacher Sonja Miller ($950) and Julie Romberg ($1,000) received funds to pursue National Board Certification, as did Sequim Middle School teacher Casey Lewis ($950).

Sequim Middle School teacher Andrea Dietzman received $2,500 to pursue her master’s degree in elementary education.

Jennifer Kent (Lynn), Helen Haller Elementary School second-grade teacher, received $5,000 to pursue her master’s degree in counseling.

Kaylee Kinsey, also a second-grade teacher at Helen Haller, received $5,000 for her studies to earn a master’s degree in early elementary education.

Paraeducator Peter Harker received $4,000 toward his studies to earn a master’s degree in teaching math.
