Taylor Balkan, a 2013 Sequim High School gradute, recently was awarded the Roger and Joy Rand Scholarship by the Valley City State University (Valley City, N.D.) Department of Mathematics for the 2017-2018 academic year, the school announced last week.

Balkan is a senior pursuing a major in mathematics education.
