Milestone: SHS graduate Andres awarded Olympic Driftwood Sculptors scholarship

The Olympic Driftwood Sculptors announced last week the club’s 2018 Visual Art Scholarship of $2,000 goes to Haelee Dawn Andres, a 2018 graduate of Sequim High School.

Andres plans to attend Central Washington University in the fall. Her intended major will be studio art and art history, seeking a masters degree in secondary education; she plans to become an art teacher.

Thank yous go out to all who attend Olympic Driftwood Sculptors art shows, donate money, buy raffle tickets and purchase the club’s boutique items. From the money collected, the Olympic Driftwood Sculptors can offer a yearly visual art scholarship.

Juniors from the North Olympic Peninsula who plan to attend any accredited college or art school and major or minor in any visual art are encouraged to look for scholarship information in January or February of 2019.
