Former native residents of Santa Barbara, Calif., William (Bill) Morris Irvine and Nancy Mecham Irvine, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands with friends. They moved to Sequim in 2007. The Irvines were married in Las Vegas, Nev., on Jan. 12, 1947, at the Wee Kirk-of-the-Heather wedding chapel.

Nancy was the proprietor of the San Marcos Garden Cafe and Catering by Nancy. Bill served as the captain of many tall ships and was a fixture in the Santa Barbara Harbor.

Bill and Nancy have three children, Timothy, Sharie and Holly who were raised in Santa Barbara. They also have five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
